Hi all,

Trying to fix a TV mount to a brick wall,

Using 2.25" screws and plugs correctly sized plus (pic below)
Drilled a hole slightly longer than the screw (pic below of screw inserted in hole))
Plug fits snuggly and does not rotate when being screwed into. (pic below)
I'm using a DeWalt 18v XR. I've tried multiple torque settings, but cannot get it to even halfway before it just stops dead. Driver either racthets or starts to thread the screw. Tied on power level 1 and 2 and not trying to screw too fast.

Any advice appreciated.
Thanks.

Pull the plug out and re drill with the same size drill bit, going in and out a few times, it maybe that you’ve got a lot of dust in the hole or it needs to be a tad bigger

To get the plug out, put in a screw a few turns then pull out gently with pliers or nail removal side of a hammer

Use a new plug ensuring the hole is completely clear of dust (suck it out with a vacuum nozzle) and screw in slowly by hand. It’s possible the supplied plug is too small for the screw in which case use good quality proprietary screws and plug

Looking at picture 1 & 2 the screw may be binding on the edge of the slot in the metal bracket.

You may be correct there..

Get some candle wax on the screw, once you clear the edge of the bracket.

They are poor quality philip screw heads , are you using a posi drive bit ? Use different screws ones supplied are cack.
