I have been buying Goldscrews from Screwfix for years. I bought the 5mm x 80mm 100 Pack variant today (17131) and got a complete different quality of screw. The first thing you notice is the screw colour, it's very yellow now very close to gold so I am not really sure these are zinc-plated/yellow-passivated/carbon steel as the previous screws were. But the main issue with the new ones is that the head is much smaller both in head diameter (3.5%), head base and head reinforcement so I have no doubt these screws will be much weaker. And to top it all the pozidriv head is off centre, you can clearly see this in every screw! Attached is an image showing the previous goldscrew compared to the new one. Both are 5mm x 80mm. Anyone seen this change before? Any sort of of recommendations on what goldscrews to buy now? Thanks

I tend to buy the toolstation ones, I’ve found them fine to use and same price.
