Why are these so bad? I've fitted 2 now and each time, as i pushed the pan onto the rubber ring, the rubber ring comes away from the plastic, making the pan connector unusable! why do Screwfix still sell this cheap rubbish?

Same with B&Q mate. I got a mcalpine one from an independent plumbers merchant. Much better quality

Had the same issue before with a flexi it split half way along.
the rigid ones are ok from screwfix you can re-insert the black rubber ring just take the locking ring off with a flat screwdriver.

Fitted a couple of these and not had any problems, but I do tend to use a good dose of fairy liquid. (I know, someone will say it should be silicone grease for rubber to prevent perishing, but meh, this does the job and I've always got it to hand.)

But generally, yeah, there is a fair bit of dross in the screwfix catalogue.
