I'm not going to comaplain, but I find it funny that they have the offer to a certain date, then when that date comes, they will add another 2 weeks, and make it to that date, and so on and so on, it's been going for months now

I know it's a way to make people buy quick because they think it's going to end, but it really isn't going to end soon haha

next week there will be another one, just like there was the time before that, and before that.................

If you think that is bad, then what about DFS, SCS etc and their poxy settee sales which always end "this Sunday"?

BTW, does anyone actually go and buy just a two-seater settee for £399 like as advertised, or do they tend to need at least three pieces of furniture (ie a suite) which then comes to about £1500 including Scotchgard and delivery in 3 months time?

I'm not going to complain, 10% off is 10% off. Took advantage a few weeks ago, thank you DIYNOT.
:?: Thank you DIYnot?? I get the 10% off voucher because I'm registered with Screwfix. They give these vouchers out every so often to anyone registered with them. Its free to register and they email you the voucher.

I had no idea of the promotion untill registering on this site. I place several orders with screwfix a year probably totalling between £1k-£2k.

So, cheers DIYNOT, keep spreading the message.

Your mission with DFS is to try to buy a sofa at the full price, near impossible I'd guess.

Yes I am registered but my latest e-mail voucher appears to have expired on 31/10 and they haven't notified an extension. I missed the deadline on the September one too, but then I still picked up the discount through the extended DIYNOT offer. So thanks are in order.

Screwfix have sent me a text offering £15 off on £100 spend, and £50 on £250 spend at Trade Counter until 4/11 though. Nice.

I always thought that Screwfix did own this website. Why else would they get the free advertising in contravention of Rule 3?

They don't get free advertising.

They pay the site owner for it.

I saved myself another £10 tonight thanks to their offer :D

I always thought that Screwfix did own this website.

DIYnot, is owned by a private individual, it could be you, it could be me, but its not.

This website costs a lot of money to run.

the name has to be paid for as does the webspace, they are cheap in comparison to the amount of bandwidth this site must use. (like petrol for an engine, the more you drive it the moe you use)

That bandwidth has to be paid for, so the owner uses google ads, that is why all the pages have an ad, you click on it, the owner of that a pays google when you click on their ad, the host of that ad (diynot in this case) gets paid a % of what the ad owner gets charged.

It just so happens that asits diy screwfix are paying alot to advertise.

Rule 3 says no free advertising, as RF lighting pointed out, its not free, they are paying for it. Anyone can have google ads on their website.

if you want to know more, do a google for google ads
