Hello,

I already know the answer I think......

Contacted Screwfix regarding titan power tool spares....told they don't stock them...

Mmmm, found out Screwfix own Titan, tried to contact titan....canlt find anything but company in Uk id dormant....

So whilst good value, and in my experience good quality, no spares backup at all?

£44.99 great for an orbital sander until the Velcro backing pad stops 'velcroing' !!!!

Anyone any ideas if there are spares out there? Or anyone know a compatible part?

thanks

how old is it?

if less than the guarantee, take it back and they give you a new one or refund

Its about 18 months, so within guarantee......but guess what - the pad isn't covered by the guarantee AND the manual says there are 'no serviceable parts', looks like I'm 'screwfixed'

You might find its a copy of a better supported unit, and you could adapt a spare part from one of those? The cost of the parts is probably going to be substantial vs the cost of a new cheap sander though!

show us a photo

might be possible to fabricate something

Buy a new one, return the old one on the new receipt as faulty within 30 days.

Screwfix have a very generous no quibble returns guarantee. Just take it back and get a new un or get your money back.

the pad isn't covered by the guarantee

Yes,the pad is not covered on most orbital sanders.

Hook & Loop is the tech name for these and repair kits are available, just needs searching but pads easy to change, video

Sometimes the retailers refer to their more affordable tools as "project tools" so they are not designed to last although your defect is different as these pads can get a lot of abuse.Thats why the exempt them from warranty.

Good luck.

Hi I have the same problem with my Titan orbital sander the disc won't stay on the plate been looking on line to see if there's any thing that I could convert as I can't see the proper one ,I think screw fix is not good as they cannot supply spares I like the idea of buying another and returning as faulty magic great idea!!!.

More like screwed:(

phone customer care line and complain. they will sort it.

all of screwfix's own brands like b and q's have no parts and service. they are mass produced in china for cheap, once sold out they either reorder or change to another product. they dont buy spares, they dont have repairs service, its replace if under warranty and still in stock.

same with stuff like cook and lewis taps, not spares service. this is why you should always stick to a brand you know well or be happy it lasts aslong as it lasts and then replace.

You can buy these at Amazon. 32mm distance between the screws and you just need to widen the screw holes slightly. 2 for £9.99. Can't go wrong.
