I'm looking to mount a TV on a plasterboard wall. The 'stud' sat behind it however is only 2" thick before being mounted onto a masonry wall. I'm planning to use heavy duty 100mm screws so will go into the masonry by around 40mm.
Can I simply drill through all 3 layers and use the respective masonry wall plug inserted flush with the plasterboard? Will it be effective in the softwood part of the hole?
