Good afternoon to all.

I understand that it is essential to scrim over the joints. But I would like to know; is there any harm scrimming over the screw fixings on the plaster board. I was thinking that perhaps this would stop the plaster "Popping" later when doors slam etc.

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks
GM

The tape is put on the joints between sheets to reinforce and prevent cracking, no need to tape screw holes.

If you are likely to encounter nails popping when the door slams then you need to seriously reconsider your fixing process.

The reason nails pop in plasterboards is due to uneven joist bottoms coupled with undriven fixings and inadequate number of fixings.
