I'm planning to fit engineered oak in our hallway. 14mm click together planks, running width ways. Is it the done thing to add anything to the joints to reduce the chance of water ingress?

Not on click flooring no. TBH it's also not the done thing to fit width way in a hallway.

Thanks.

It's a long and thin hallway so laying length ways would make it look longer and thinner.
That's the theory but I agree with slawit
How long and wide is it, how big are the planks.
As for sealing them - are they pre finished.
I know its a hallway but how wet do you envisage it getting. When I laid mine I left a good section by the front door and build it up level with the wood and it has carpet as a mat wall to wall door to floor, enough to get in and close the door behind you without stepping on the wood with wet feet. When the carpet starts to look grubby we buy a cheap off cut and replace. Much better than a coir mat.
