I am about to undertake painting my metal garage door, as you can see from the attached photo the sealant between the frame and the brickwork is cracked and has shrunken back - it needs to be replaced.
My question is, what is the best type of sealant for this application? should I strip off the old sealant, paint the door and frame and then apply silicone sealant after, or should I use a paintable sealant that will allow me to seal first and then paint over it afterwards?
Any recommendations for suitable products would be appreciated.
Thanks
