Hi all,

I have just stripped out all the silicone from around my shower tray to redo it. I have scraped out as much as I can, and I'm now applying a coat of Polycell silicon remover to get rid of any residue. Now, the question is, once I have removed that, what do I use to finally wipe down before I apply new silicone? Last time I used white spirit, but I found that very oily and it seemed some of the silicone didn't stick properly. Is there something that does the job properly??

Thanks

Gunter

Evo-stick Cleaner which will dry out on it own,But don't breathe it in ! Very strong vapour.

I would also use some smooth wet 'n' dry to key in the surfaces before cleaning and siliconing, sticks much better. There is a chemical "keyer" but cannot remember what its called, looks like a weak clear varnish.
