Sealants.

Hello everyone. First post, my window fitters sealed some of the pvc with some kind of sealer the hardens, does anyone know what this is. The sealant outside that meets the brickwork is the flexible rubber stuff but the stuff on the seams on the inside has set solid.

An obvious question? why not ask the installer what they used?

There are several different sealants that harden.

Some will take a layer of paint, others will not?

As an aside? why are you asking the original question? do you want to paint it, are there areas missed?

I suspect you might be talking about expandable foam which they use for gap filling and fixing. They then cover with plastic strips and normal white or suitable colour sealant to give it the finish

Could also be decorators caulk.
