Sealing a new concrete floor

We have a new conservatory with a concrete floor. Does anyone know if there is a floor covering that can be laid straight onto the concrete, or does it need sealing with an epoxy resin first, no matter what floor covering you choose?

We were considering a Karndean vinyl flooring, until we found out we needed to spend an extra £500 on sealing the floor first!!

If we went with slate tiles, could these be laid direct onto the concrete, or would we still need to seal it first?
