I'm in the middle of re-building a shower in my en suite. I've had to replace all the plasterboard and plan to tank using BAL tanking kit but i have 2 questions...

a) I cut two hole in one of the sheets of plasterboard in order to accommodate the water pipes. Because of the layout or pipes/room etc these holes are larger than i would have liked. I want to tank right up to these pipes but need something to bridge the gaps around the pipes - is there anything i can use?

b) the BAL instructions say that any gaps/breaks in the plasterboard etc less than 1.5mm can be bridged using the BAL polyester tape.. what if a gap is larger? what do i fill it with? what do BAL mean by 'a suitable filler' ?

thanks

Plasterboard repair/jointing tape and silicon work pretty well in most cases
