Hello, I am finishing my bathroom however I wallpapered and painted the ceiling before I sealed the gap between ceiling and wall.

Should I use decorators caulk for this, or silicone? And if silicon, should it include some mould resistant properties?

Caulk or grout. Don't use silicone because you'll never be able to paint over it.

I'm not sure I want to paint over it. I thought I could just leave the white caulk around the edge and it would look ok providing it's neat

I normally grout that gap in when tiling, then it can be painted to. In the future, if there's a crack, the decorator would caulk and paint it.

Silicone is to seal around the sink top and bath, not a long ceilings.

Personally, caulk the gap and get a coat of white emulsion on the ceiling.

If you want something that does not need painting use BT1- it is a mould resistant MS polymer that will remain flexible but can be painted over.

Use masking tape and a profiling tool though, it is quite sticky.

Unpainted caulk will discolour in time if unpainted.
