Hi
I am installing new wooden skirting in the dining room which has an outside door. Previously the end of the skirting, where it joined the outside wall below the double glazed door, was 'sealed' with what looked like silicon sealant (put in when the door was installed). Over the years mould grew on this sealant and what I intend to do is get the skirting as close to the edge without using any external sealant. In order to stop the skirting rotting I need to seal the cut end. I know I could use polyurethane or the silicon sealant mentioned earlier, but smearing of all but a thin layer off, but I just happen to have some beeswax polish which I thought would do the job. Any thoughts on that or any other simple solutions? Thanks
