Secondary glazing suppliers

Does anyone have any suggestions for suppliers of secondary glazing units for DIY installation? (Not magnetic-edged plastic, but regular secondary glazing units).

These people used to have a "DIY kit" page on their website, and Google still finds it, but when you visit it you're now redirected to the front page:

All it really needs is some "idiot-proof" measuring instructions and being willing to sell to anyone...

Granada (your link) and Duration are the only 2 I have used, I get the feeling they are sister company's as they sell similar products and have similar websites.
They both do several types and styles of frames eg. Fully aluminum, Aluminum with timber sub-frame and a few variations of each.
I too would be interested in other good suppliers if others have recommendations.

Thanks for mentioning Duration - their website does actually seem to have a "we sell for DIY" feel, still.
Have you used their products? Look any good?

Yes I have used Duration a few times now and the product is good, I think they were cheaper than Granada for the same products too.
I can believe how expensive secondary is though, I can get A+4 rated double glazed PVC windows for about the same prices.

Eight months later....

I eventually discovered that Duration don't deliver this far North.

So I went back to Granada. They are trade only, but forward DIY enquiries to a reseller. Although they seem to have supply-and-fit resellers in Edinburgh the closest supply-only reseller is somewhere in NE England. Most details seem to be OK but there are a couple of problems that I still need to resolve:

Trickle vents:

My building regs drawings specify 10,000 or 12,000 mm^2 of trickle ventillation per room. (That's the standard requirement in the Scottish building regs AIUI.). The Granada trickle vents are about 2,500 mm^2 per window. So in the rooms with two windows I can achieve 50% of the requirement. Some rooms have only one window. Any ideas? I'm annoyed that the person who did the drawings didn't realise this as I thought this was exactly the sort of experience I was paying for...

Colours:

The aluminium comes in "any RAL colour" but anything other than standard gloss white seems to be very expensive; there is a "setup charge", which becomes less extreme if I order all the windows at once (which I don't really want to do) but still it adds about £150 per window. I was considering a "satin white" because the insides of the existing timber sashes and other interior woodwork are or will be pinted with a white satin paint. But it's a lot of money, and samples don't seem to be available. Any ideas anyone? Has anyone used a satin white aluminium window?

I don't think it matters where you go the set up paint charge will apply. Say for example you want a window which takes 2 metres of profile they still have to get the full 6mtr length powder coated and you pay for it.
