What do you think of this Jackloc Titan? It’s a window restrictor that claims to resist forced entry.

I can’t tell how easily a window opens with the Jackloc Titan fitted. What do you think?

It’s passed Sold Secure Bronze testing (i.e., not über-secure, but presumably better than a cable restrictor).

I don't know how much it can resist forced entry with a few screws fixed into a uPVC window frame. It's also too bulky for my taste.

I think its more an opening restrictor to limit the opening so small children don't climb and fall out or for hotels used as anti suicide restrictors but still allowing ventilation, don't think their actual purpose is as a security device

That’s what I wondered, too. The better sash jammers use jack nuts to mitigate this issue, but the Jackloc Titan uses regular screws. But do some sash jammers use regular screws? Standard Araldite and screws combined can be relatively resistant to force for sash jammers, but Araldite isn't referenced in the Titan's online instructions.

I initially thought it was more of an opening restrictor, but Jackloc advertises alternative products for this purpose. It markets the Titan for home security, including this claim:
The patented design of The Titan window lock provides extra security for open windows and is awarded Sold Secure status by the Master Locksmiths Association, making it the first, and only, window restrictor to achieve this accolade.

In addition, the Titan by Jackloc has been awarded Secured by Design (SBD) accreditation recognising this window restrictor as an approved and effective means of reducing crime
