By free standing plastic bath, do you mean it is suppled with an plastic shroud that hides all connections? how are you going to make the connections once the bath is in situ if this the case? or is it a slipper type bath where you can see all lion type feet etc?

sorry didnt mention its flat at the bottom so no legs im gonna put it on a raised plinth theres a big cut out underneath to make connections

ok, so you've two options then. Plastic pipe and flexible waste. the plastic has to have enough play to be able to drop back down once you lower the bath. id mark out round the edge of the bath on the tiles lift the bath back up and then get some of that super strength no nails place a bead all the way round your now marked area an then plonk the bath down and half fill of water for the expansion etc. alternatively is to work on it from underneath. secure your shroud to the floor with the fixings supplied, pre plumb the bath up and drop into shroud securing bath to shroud with fixing suppied. hey presto bath is secure. but the hard part is taking the customer ceilling down to gain access to the pipeworks etc.. good luck.. mine at home was a nightmare.. wouldn't do it for a customer
