hi all,
I have a upvc french door set comprising a double glazed door in the middle and a side pane either side of the door. I think both the door and side panels are screwed into concealed metal props between the door and the side panes. This is on the rear wall of the property which is a double brick wall. I'm guessing that the props were secured to timber plates at the top and bottom of the opening in the brickwork.
I am planning to have a kitchen extension done and want this double glazing taken off and re-used on rear wall of the kitchen extension. The surveyors plans show the new wall as a cavity wall with a catnic above the door.
So can the props be screwed somehow to the catnic ? Or will there have to be timber plate in between that is fixed to the sides of the opening in the wall ?
Thanks in advance
