Any recommendations for a strong security chain or similar to be fitted to a PVC door?

As I understand it, it is not a good idea to drill and screw into the face of the door.

I have seen several types, including a traditional chain that hooks over the handle, and a sprung bar that attaches at the hinge side of the door.

What would you say is best?

Door cables are very good for pvc, fitted to either side [not to the door which is weak].Can be locked from the outside when leaving the property. They are a loose hanging cable which when the door is forced only allow the door to open a few inches, they absorb all the shock of someone kicking the door.

Thanks Foxhole. That's a type I hadn't heard of. It also sound like something I could knock together myself.
