Security Light- Best Method

Hi, Whats the best method of installing a security light with pir.
1- Run 3 core cable from unit and wire up to 3 pin plug and plug in or
2- Connect to back of nearest "inside" socket
3- Run to Switched fuse socket then to back of exsisting socket.
Which ever is best method, please could you let me know details.
I have light, i have some 3 core pond cable floating around somewhere or some 1.5 light cable ??

take 3core flex in thru wall. run it next to a socket. either add a SFCU with 3A fuse, or put a plug with a 3A fuse in on the end and plug it in. do not take a feed direct from the back of the circuit

Excuse my ignorance here, a SFCU ?, Any pictures links to such an item so i know what to purchase.

SFCU = Switched Fused Connection Unit.
Any decent shed will sell you one.
