Security recording software

I have some security cameras feeding into a switcher box that feeds out to a recorder (4 channel video, 1 channel audio). All the recorders I've seen (30 day continuous recording) are expensive. I'd like to buy a cheap PC and use that instead. Anybody know what kit I'd need and what (MS XP Pro) software is out there?

look on Ebay, there are 4 ch DVR cards with software available.
