Hello everyone,

I have a water filter and water softener and would like to connect them to the rigid pipework which is 22mm and 28mm with flexible tap connectors. The ones I already have here have a small internal diameter, about 13mm. I am looking for something better, if it exists?

Yes it does

However tap connectors are measured in BSP threads, in inches, not in mm. BSP nominal sizes are not their actual sizes. This is because it is the nominal (not actual) internal diameter of the pipe it fits, not the thread of the fitting, or the outside of the pipe. For example half-inch BSP has a thread that measures about 3/4inch. And 3/4 measures about an inch. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Standard_Pipe

You probably want a 3/4" BSP bath-tap size fitting. Though 1" also exists. The larger sizes are remarkably expensive. You will need stopcocks in the larger size as well.

You will need a right-angle fitting at the machine connection.

They are stocked by companies who sell water softeners, especially if they also sell the larger sizes for hotels and commercial use.

You can usually order one when you buy the softener.

Sheds that sell small domestic softeners will probably not have them.

Plastic ones for potable water are white (not red and blue like the ones for washing machines), I understand to indicate purity.

With braided hoses you must take care not to kink or twist them before tightening.

Thanks. I found in my storage some short flexi tubes but with large diameter and have used these. I did not use the flexi tap connectors. I do not know what the ones I have used really are for :)

Most standard 22mm-3/4" flexi's are around 13mm ID, largest I've ever seen is 15mm but they were supplied with the tap. 28mm aren't widely available either.
