Hi folks
just a quickie, I have noticed that in the bathroom one of the walls looks like there has been some sort of liquid seeping throuigh the wall, not alot but its very small amounts almost invisible to the eye, brown ish liquid and is sticky to the touch.

Looks like there has been some sort of repairs to the celling where the wall joins the ceiling.

Its only very slight, some of the plaster has blown and in time the bathroom is going to be gutted but just wondered if anyone had any ideas what it could be.

I had visions of a terrible leak in the attic space but the ceiliing is dry as a bone and solid.

is there a downpipe or any way that water could be leaking onto the outside of the wall? In our old flat a large lump of moss blocked the gutter. The gutter would overflow and drip down the wall. The only way i knew this was happening was because of drops of brown water that started appearing through the wall.

We then unblocked the gutter and painted the wall with a damp stop paint. 6 months later the gutter blocked again and lots of bubbles started appearing under the damp stop paint which again were full of brown water.
