Jailed for 26 months ... 26 fecking months. Look at the LIFE CHANGING injuries the victim has sustained.

What the actual feck is going on with our sentencing??? If the judge was limited by sentencing guidelines then surely they need urgent review?

IMO, it's the Judges that are the problem.

In this particular case, the Judge could've given him 5 years (the maximum for the offence) but only gave him less than half that just because he said sorry and his guilty plea.

Of course he pleaded guilty - the **** filmed himself committing the offence

He should have got 3 1/2 years. But His age is relevant. Offence committed when he was 17.

Sentencing guidelines around these offences need urgent review.

To me there's a world of difference between a genuine accident and a case like this.

The 5 year maximum sentence is a complete and utter joke.

He’s unlikely to get insurance again so his next court appearance is almost certainly going to be driving without insurance
