Hi chaps, Ok I'm about to start the process of purchasing a 2 bed cottage out near Wisbech (so any recommendations would be appreciated) The property has a pebble dash coating over it, which over the years has had any cracks just filled in with a cement fix. I have a structural engineer visiting the property this week to confirm only a hollow render exists and that there is no subsidence (other buyers could not get a mortgage on the property) so alarm bells are twanging in my head.... And there are some big chunks coming away in one corner of the property. If as I expect everything is ok and I go ahead what would be the sequence of events. The entire property will need to re-rendered, but also new windows and doors throughout. So do the windows get fitted first or afterwards? The windows will be solid wood, so I don't want any staining / damage happening to the frames. I would like to bring this property into the 21st century as it was built 1899 I'm led to believe and it is being marketed as being brick built and part rendered though I can only see the render.. Yet I've had 2 so called specialists claim it to be a clay cob construction...... I'm looking to brighten this place up and want to do away with a dull grey pebble dash again an use a smooth render that is good in all weather elements and will last. Look forward to your replies...thanks
