Can anyone tell me what I would expected to be charged for a service/clean on an Ideal Minimiser SE boiler, thats assuming no parts need replacing etc.

There will be parts that need replacing.

The burner seal will need replacing & the electrodes usually do too.

Its unfortunate I came to a site where childish banter takes precedent over intelligent discussion. Sad ****** plumbers, obviously.

Clearly the above comments came from a different SWALLOWTIP

it's a new incarnation of rubber glove man. lol sitting in the office waiting for a tip off prolly.

I HATE minimisers they cut you hands to shreads cleaning their blooming heat exchangers

:(

Although I know that everyone does them with a bog brush I was told by ideal tech that the best way to do them is a good old can of compressed air as this stops the rubbish being pushed into the fins and stopping the boiler firing up with an inadequate air supply. Mind you he also said a by the book service on a minimiser should take 3 to 3.5 hours  , would be interested if you call ideal out if that is the time they take to do it.

I thought the rounded bog brush was for the response. This is what I was told on the Ideal factory training course.

Perhaps idealman will come on and put us right ;)

The same as the factory training told me to service an Icos/Isar with 3 kettles of boiling water

Yeah right, have you seen the crud that builds up in the condensing trap and sump. Took me 15 mins yesterday just to clean the trap out. Never seen such big crap in there
