Servis 1200 washing machine problem

Hi all

My Servis 1200 recently developed a problem whereby about a minute or so into a cycle it stops working... The countdown timer flips straight to zero for no apparent reason.

This happens on every cycle I've tried, including a simple rinse program.

Any ideas what might be causing this, and is there a cost effective repair, bearing in mind the machine only cost about £300 5 years ago?
