servis m3016a no spin

Hi Guys,
We purchased this machine 2 years ago and it has always been tempermental about spinning.we have added dry towels to reduce imbalance, kept the load relatively light & made sure the machine was level.
Recently it stopped spinning again and we had neglected to clean the filter.Once cleaned it spun for one wash only.
Should I get rid or can it be fixed?

did it drain all of the water out? you may think you cleaned it out, but i've been suckered a few times by a 5p piece lodged in pipes and filter housing outlet.

Hi, thanks for the info.
I had white filter housing off and have checked the hoses, and cleaned them out.I then took the pump out but cannot find any obstruction.
There was no water remaining in the machine after it's last run so it seems
to be pumping okay.
I've noticed a slight weep of oil on the shock absorber struts which support the drum. Could this affect the out of balance sensor?
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED AS THE WIFE IS
GIVING ME STRIFE!
