I knew it was a mistake......it serves me right.
I bought a Servis washer in November 2013 and now it's on its way out. It was on sale at Argos. I was weak and succumbed to the advertising.
Sounds like a rocket taking off when on full spin. The bearings haven't smashed yet but they will soon. I suspect it's the dampeners or the suspension springs (or both) which have failed allowing the drum to rock wildly whilst spinning.
Struggled to find the parts for a Servis. Even Espares.co.uk don't do parts for this model.
Priced up the parts from Servis and it's not worth doing.
I've seen sense and ordered a Hotpoint which arrives on friday. My previous two washers were Hotpoints and they lasted eight and nine years respectively and were so reliable. My sis swears by Hoovers and she's had hers ten years.
It's a shame because back in the days of twin tubs Servis was a good make.
