Hi, I have a sewage smell coming from this shower. The flat bar in the trap says to turn and pull. It turns but I've pulled fairly hard and can't get it out.

If I pull harder and break it, any idea what it is and if spares are available? Does it look like McAlpine stw3?

Worst case I don't suppose the trap can be repaired from the top? It's a mortared in pan with the waste in concrete, under floor tiles, so I'm cautious about attacking it.

Any other thoughts on what the smell could be? This trap and the basin waste disappear under the floor and drain into a 110mm into an inspection chamber outside. Nothing else on that 110 - the toilet has a separate one into the chamber.

Thanks

If its a bottle trap it may be missing tne trap seal, otherwise a leak which might require more invasive work

These are a simple 'bottle trap' design, with a removable dip tube to allow cleaning from above. The dip tube goes into the water to form the water seal, it is clearly present and assuming sufficient water in the trap, it should be doing it's job.

IIRC the tube should turn about 90º, then pull out, replacement is the reverse operation, turn it back 90º to lock tube in place. Are you positive this is where the odour is coming from?
