I wish to install a shaver socket in my bathroom to use for shaver and toothbrush.
I know I must use one with a transformer.
Problem is the socket is going to be surface mounted which means at least 50mm box.
Are there any available 'slimline' types with smaller depth?

Will be going on to wooden casing around soil pipe.
Could go inside but not sure if enough room or if safe.
Also do not know if box for plasterboard would give firm enough fixing on plywood.

as long as you cut the hole the right size and the plywood is thin enough to let you fit it properly the plasterboard box should be just fine.

Can not find 47mm deep plasterboard wall box.
Do they exist? Is there an alternative?
Also socket spec shows BS EN 61558-2-5. No mention of BS3535 or
BS 4573. Is it safe for use in bathroom?
