I have a brick shed, on which the door is rotting.
I'll be replacing the lining with tanalised 2x4 and was wondering about the cheapest way to make the door - its an unusual size, 75x190cm (2'6" by 6'4").
I was wondering if the cheapest way was to use a sheet of 25mm WBP ply - I've seen some "One good face" stuff that comes ready treated on one face - apparently used for shuttering.
Any opinions on this? I could use 12mm and brace with 2x4 but was hoping the 25mm would be strong enough to use just as a sheet.
Also, what about hinges? I was hoping to use butt hinges but can they be fixed into the end grain of ply? If not I could always use flag hinges.
Thanks
