Hello, I'm looking for some advice.
I plan to build a 20x12 shed on a timber frame foundation. Question is if I were to place the frame below ground level (say 6 of the 8 inch timber), what measures should/could be taken to ensure adequate drainage and damp proofing?
The timber frame, 4 8x2s with 7x2s joist on hangers with a yet undecided timber based flooring. Is concrete blocks situated underneath a worth while consideration?
Is a trench dug around shed filled with gravel an acceptable way to go for drainage?
The shed life is estimated at 5-7 years only before being taken down.
if these ideas are impossible I'd be interested to know why
Reason for consideration is a desire for the extra height gained.
