Looking to get some Ikea Kalax shelves (https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/cat/kallax-series-27534/) under here.

Want to make it look good, and keen for any pointers as to how to do a proper job. I’m sure there loads of YouTube videos about it etc, so if anyone can steer or give recommendations I’d be very grateful.

Thanks

So your not just talking about, remove what's under there then push the shelves in?

What hack are you referring to?

Yes be a bit more specific about what you want to achieve, maybe a photo or image that someone else has done, I'm in the middle of Billy bookcase hack atm.

Only thing that I can think off is either extend the width or height to fit the gap?
I assembled some 6 years ago for a friend so roughly remember them.
What are the measurements?

Looks like a 2 wide will fit under it (turned sideways), not sure on the width though,
a 2x3 should, a 2x4 may not.

Thanks, I’m looking for a well finished job, so rather than just put a box of shelves under I’d like to mount it and fit it / paint it properly etc. So open to pointers in any good videos or general tips which cover this sort of thing. Thanks

Well just have a Google for kalax desk hack, plenty of videos, we can advise on reinforcing, joining, finishing etc but you need to convey the basis of what you want to achieve first.

I wall-mounted several Kallaxes in my partner's flat and she filled them with Ikea DRÖNA boxes, available in various colours. They fit snugly and look better than all the clutter on open shelves.
