I need to run some copper pipe along a section of wall in our hallway. Rather than boxing it in I was thinking polishing it up and leaving it exposed. However, I guess it will need some kind of protective coating to keep it 'shiny'.

Any products out there that you can use for this sort of thing?

Cheers,

Pop into your local merchants, and ask for a large tub of elbow grease

Rustins metal lacquer. You used to be able to get it from B&Q but haven't seen it for a while. You can get it from Axminster.

what is flowing in the pipe, gas or water (i suggest chrome pipe) but you need to be careful what type of fittings you use, depending on what is in the pipe and if any fitting will be covered

It'll be the flow return for a radiator. Max temp approx 80 degrees.

Chrome will look a bit bling. Copper would be okay because it won't contrast so much against the varnished wood that we have in the hallway.

You can get white tubing to go over the pipe, I think chrome is also available

I've got a customer who has a 15 yr old system She polishes the pipework once a week with normal polish, it looks better than new pipe, its shiny and immaculate.
