It's thuggery on a commercial scale. No better than badger baiting and dog fighting. No wonder this world is a violent place.

Who's up for a bit of cock fighting?

I say let them at it. It's their choice and probably keeps them off the street.

Whist some people may view boxing as barbaric you can not argue that the time spent out of the ring, i.e. training is a great way to keep fit.

Some may argue that it is better to have blokes fighting inside a controlled arena rather than settling things in the street, but i don't buy into that.

But hey, if you are going to ban boxing then you must include all sports where violent contact is inevitable because legislation can not single out just boxing.

All wrestling, martial arts, rugby, ice hockey, etc etc, would have to be banned also. Ridiculous really.

Well let them fight with knives then if it's so harmless.

I don't understand this statement, its context or regards to whom it is directed.

Are you inferring that if governing bodies allow boxing then it is the same as allowing people to fight with knives?

Do you mean like fencing where they wear protective gear and score hits?

Or do you mean that allowing boxing is akin to allowing people to fight unprotected with knives? I'm baffled Joey.

Joe seems to like to stir things up, them make a few smart, and often quite funny retorts...

banning boxing is just a ridiculous notion. You can imagine when the time machine is invented, Joe pushing to the front of the queue to tell some emporer that the gladiatorial battle must stop forthwith ...

With the increase in internet sales surely boxing is on the increase?
I buy packs of 60 double walled corrugated boxes to ship my stuff out every week.

I mean if there were no boxing it would be rubbish could you imagine everything in bags? The thought fills me with dread.

Boxing makes things easier to label and stack for a start off.

You making a good living then mdf from your boxing?
