Should I add a bit if mesh/foam here?

Hi all

We and the neighbours had a rat issue and have been getting place deratted and now entry points sealed up. Do you think I should sell up this hole behind radiator with mesh and or foam? Just worried if the expanding foam may press on the radiator pipe?

Foam won't damage the pipe. Its soft. Only builds up pressure when trapped as it's expands.
If you put some in a bottle with lid on it would build up force.
Take lid off it will just come out

Wire wool alone should be fine.

I don't think the hole is big enough for a rat, definitely big enough for a mouse.

Rats need to chew through things to stop their incisors becoming too long. From what I have been told, when faced with wire wool, it hurts their nose and they back off.
