Hi,

I have a standard 1930s 3 bed semi. The front bedroom bay window ceiling is leaking which is making the plaster flake off.

I have been told by a roofer that the bay may not need refelting and that a waterproof resin can be painted over what is already there? Is this correct and if so what is it called and how much will it cost?

Alternatively would it be better to get it refelted?

I am on a budget by the way.

Thanks in advance.

Painting on any water proofing liquids is only temporary fixes, but if you are going to paint anything on it, use Acropyl.
When you can afford it, and its not to big a roof have it redone in lead or zinc.
If its a large area consider epdm.
