i see the 3 little bullys got a total of 46 years to server between then yesterday for murder but should they have got 46 years each, or should we go down the same path as the yanks, & give murderers & perv's 150 years so when they appeal, the courts cut 50 years off ,and they only have 100 years to do  sounds good to me ,and justice would seem to have been done everybody's a winner

YES, life should mean life and there should be no reductions in the sentence. On the same theme, why are sentences served concurrently, multiple sentences should surely be consecutive :!:
Multiple crimes, multiple sentences = reduced incentive to commit crimes repeatedly.

Just listened to part of the interview with the widow of the victim where she advocates the death penalty for the thugs concerned best of luck to her but we will never see it reintroduced as long society is more concerned with the human rights of the assailants as opposed to victims.

billyo, do you by any chance ride a bicycle?

I don't think he has the time judging by the number of posts he has on this site.
He's got to be running out of topics, surely!

And while we're on the subject, get rid of the parole board - after all what service do they offer society?
Oh and stop crims claiming compensation, for anything.

Oh yeah, and if they nick £53m, then when they come out of jail, make 'em pay it all back... after all it's gone somewhere !

anobium, how could i run out of topic the world is full of them

Its being reported today that at least one of the three is considering to appeal against his conviction, his lawyer says that the sentence was robust and his 17 year sentence goes above government guidelines of 15 years for this type of offence.Won't be long before we have a perceived miscarriage of justice ,nice fat compensation and out on the streets causing havoc and distress once more.

a 1958 humber hawk

My dad had an earlier one in the sixties that was kept in a barn for use by British officers in the war. It was painted army green. All leather upholstery. Like a Rolls Royce to ride in.
