Hi all, not really a disaster but my I’m away on holiday tomorrow and my mums shower has broken , she’s elderly and although I can get the water on by kind of jigging the knob, she doesn’t have the strength .
The isolators on the pipes are easily accessible but were also awkward to shut and open .
Obviously the shower needs replacing but as a temporary measure while I’m away I have swapped the isolators for lever ball valves .
By leaving the shower knob in the ‘forced on’ position she can now turn the shower on and off via the 2 ball valve levers .
This is a gravity fed non electric shower .
I’m not a plumber and don’t really have time to arrange one currently.
I guess I’d like to know if this is / was an ok solution for a couple of weeks until I get back and can sort it properly ?
Many thanks .
Pictured is what she had and what I’ve replaced them with .
