Hi

Our shower blocks on a regular basis. I have tried a plunger and also some stuff in aerosol can that 'sends vibrations down the pipe'. Both of these remove the blockage for a short period.

Other appliances draining to the same drain as the shower are OK so I suspect it is local to the shower.

Is there something (for example) I can poke down the shower to try and budge the blockage?

I'm sure a similar topic has been posted somewhere but I can not get the forum search to work at the mo so apologies.

Cheers

Net curtain wire ;) or a little device from a plumbers/diy shop called a sani snake looks like net curtain wire

If it's a proper (!) shower trap, you MAY be able to remove the chrome grille from the bottom of the tray then pull up and out the plastic 'insert' under it. You will then be able to see whether there's any muck in the body of the trap. But not all traps fitted to showers are like that! DO NOT try to UNSCREW the grille - if it comes out at all, it just lifts out.

Also be VERY careful poking down the drain with sharp-ended objects. Shower wastes often have flexible plastic connections which will be easily punctured.
