I am in the process of replacing a new shower stall and platform. I can't remove the drainage hole to replace the new base. Any suggestions how I can remove it?
Thanks

I am serious ..... the hole fittings won't come out, to ensure installation of the new one, not sure if the old one is is glued in or what. I have used a plumbers wrench, heating gun, etc.
I am sure someone out there have had the same problem.

so was i.

you say you cant get the base out- hence hit it with a hammer, breaking it, leaving you with just the drain hole.

if its just the drain hole left (which you didn't say in your first post) cut it and the pipe off, and fix new pipe

Breezer, sorry, thought you were kidding...(as you can probably tell I'm not a plumber). The base and the drainage hole is still intact. So beat the base out.........are you saying that the new base should be able to fit over the old drainage hole. My husband is trying to replace it and has gone out searching for help at the local shop. I thought I would check on here for advice.
Thanks

the drainage hole sometimes screws down (centre screw) into the "outer piece" by removing the existing base (with a hammer) you should then be able to access the old drain pipe work and unscrew it
