It will probably need replacing but wanting to see what can be tried before going to the expense
When the shower is turned on (when the valve is centered) it keeps going to close itself it its turned to the left or the right then it stays open
Any thoughts please?
Just hope it if needs replacing i can get something similar

There should be an allen grub screw holding the handle on. Under the handle, the cartridge should be held in by a locking nut. Tightening the locking nut may just tighten the cartridge mechanism enough so that it doesn't close under gravity.

Thanks I'll try that in the morning

Been told no allen grub screw. But hopefully they are wrong. Just loath to take the face plate off

There may be a small plastic disc covering the grub screw hole. Maybe with red and blue colours.

Went checked it nothing
I've realised when I looked at it looks like a shower you get in a gym! There is no way to get the plate off and no grub screw. The plate only comes forward a bit but is blocked by the way shower valve.
So I think it got put in and tiled behind
But 100% is some kind of gym shower
Bit stuck now !
