Hello and thank you for reading this post.

A shower mixer tap is part jammed. It's the temperature adjustment side. The adjuster turns ok but the mechanism / cartridge inside must be jammed because the water temperature does not change.

There is no manufacturer name on the unit. It was installed in 2005. Please see three photos below.

When changing a flow cartridge before on another mixer elsewhere, there was a small screw cover at the end which popped off ok and then the adjuster came undone by unfastening the screw. But on the jammed mixer, what looks like a screw cover at the end of the temperature adjuster won't come off.

Does anyone recognise this unit in the photos? Does the cover pop off as with other units?

Thank you.

Its 13 years old ,i would buy a new valve , available from around fifty quid ish. Not worth the effort of stripping and buying / sourcing a replacement cartridge ,in my opinion.

+1. Buy a new one. Pipe centres should be a standard 150mm. 10mins to fit and that includes 8 minutes working out where the water turns off and 1 minute to open the box.

Dear Andy, thank you for your reply. The system is a mains fed system with combi boiler and separate pressure module for the radiator system.
