Hi folks,
Have old tiles in my bathroom flat but now the water is leaking around the tiles and reaching a resident below. I wonder if shower panel will be better in terms of leakage and maintenance.

What do you guys recommend?

Also do I need to remove the old bathroom wall tiles to fit the panels. What I want is a low maintenance and of course water not leaking.

As far as allowing a new surface to seal to the bath etc then yes, but taking off the tiles and replacing them would do the same job, depends what finish is wanted at the end of the day.

What makes you think it's the tiles and not the seal around the bath? Unless the tiles are actually loose on the wall then I take the bath panel off and take a look at the bath seal, as that looks a bit ropey too.

Thanks for your reply.
Tiles have become loose and we did a touch up few weeks with new silicone around the bath and some tiles, but that didn't stop the leak when people use the shower. The reason for the shower panel is easier to maintain and less chance of tiles coming loose again, the bathroom has poor ventilation as well.

If the tiles are loose then that's not a good subbase for the panels to be fixed too. Normally the panels would be adhered to the original wall surface (grab/silicone adhesive) but if the tiles are loose then the panels can end up being loose too. The best approach would be to take the loose tiles off and refit them so the wall panels have something solid to be fitted too.
