Shower pipes

Hello everyone,

I have just moved the shower to a new position with the pipes sunk into the wall, is it wise to shield the pipes and if so what with?

Also do I need to earth the copper pipes even if they have plastic fittings in the end?

Any help you could give would be apprecieated
