Bathroom showrooms are advising me repeatedly that I need 2-3 bar of pressure for the fixed head shower I am thinking of buying. I have about 0.8 bar (8 metres head). Hot and cold are from a gravity fed communal system (equal pressure). Stuart Turner advise that their pumps will not work on a communal system. Have I found a 'catch 22' or is there a way to boost the pressure of communal systems for a decent strength shower? Your advice gratefully received. Thanks in anticipation.

Ask the Landlord if the storage tanks is big enough to supply water to pump as it may not be suitable for shared system, eg pump will pull water from other tenants's taps if the tanks can't fill quick enough.

How about buying a shower head that is suitable for low pressure system? 8 metres head is enough.

Daniel.
