Hi all,
What a great web site...my first try...I hope someone can help.

I am going to tear out my bathroom, will be replacing a (non-working) shower pump and will be re-routing the pipework. A couple of questions...

I have been told that the current hot feed to the pump is wrongly plumbed, i.e. from a pipe from a pipe, and should be taken directly from the boiler. Is it OK to join the new feed to the hot outflow pipe, or should an additional hole be made in the boiler?

I have been tempted to buy a temperature-regulator valve that will also supply the bath-water (rather than just a shower mixer). Is pumping water to a bath a good idea? If the pump goes wrong will I be stuffed for the bath as well?

Is the fact that I am in a very hard water area an issue? The current pipework is 15mm, would it be better to replace with 22mm while I am at it?

Many thanks for any tips.
