Hi have a steam/shower unit installed. Recently had problem with mixer valve so called out egineer. He removed the none return valves from the inlets on hot/cold of mixer valve. The unit is pumped installed by our plumber and when we run the shower the large tank in the loft starts to overflow through the overflow pipe also some of the water is luke warm, any ideas?

OP said that the engineer that came out removed the NR valves Seco...and the answer is "because he's an eejit who clearly doesn't know what he's doing".

Bonecruncher, the engineer who came out has messed your shower up, the non-return valves should not have been removed, this is causing the cold to pass into the hot as Seco has said. Get him out again to put them back, this will cure that problem at least.

What was the original problem, IE why did you call an engineer out in the first place?
